The Venue

Trebnitz Castle

Trebnitz Castle is a 17th century structure that was extensively added to and remodeled during the 19th century.

Originally home to a family of Prussian nobles, it became a community centre for the workers of the nearby villages and their children after World War II.

During the 1990s the castle was renovated once more and became home to an art museum, a performance venue, and a meeting place for events promoting cross-cultural exchange and understanding.

The castle is situated at the outskirts of a small township and is surrounded by acres of beautiful gardens.

Accomodation

While the castle itself provides some beautiful scenery, rooms are rather bare-bones, providing basic comforts for sleeping and storing your items. Communal showers and toilets are shared across floors and wings.

There are 13 single bedrooms, 13 double rooms, 10 bedrooms for three people each, and 5 bedrooms for four people each

There is on-site access to wireless internet and mobile reception is weak but okay for most carriers.

Food & Drink

On the day of your arrival you will get dinner. On days 1, 2, and 3 of the game, you will get breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Each day coffee or tea and snacks will be served in the afternoon. On the day of your departure you will get breakfast.

All food will be prepared on-site each day. During the registration process you will be asked for your preferences for vegetarian/vegan options, any specific diets or allergies. You can also bring limited quantities of your own specially required food that needs cold storage.

Snacks, beverages, and some alcoholic drinks will be offered in off-game areas during play times. These will include vegan options.

In-Game Areas

There are three main areas we can use within the castle itself, spread out across its three floors. We have additional space for our workshops in an adjacent building.  We also have full use of the castle gardens.

The location provides for some wheel-chair accessible bedrooms and areas for dinner and workshops. Unfortunately not all areas are barrier-free. We are still working on solutions with the people on-site. Our staff will also be ready to assist with any mobility issues.

While we have the buildings to ourselves, museum visitors may wander around outside during the daytime.
